Rubber and cotton had to be transported from the Down Under and the shuttle service was limited. So Sayberling created the company and gave it the name of the brave researcher Charles Goodyear who discovered vulcanization. Sayberling also invented the distinctive company symbol – a winged sandal that still symbolically mediates the company with its past.
