juding by the title of the previous post, it looks like there aren't very many actual VW owners out there. Then gain, i've noticed that there aren't very many threads, so I'm assuming that this a pretty new forum, which is awesome, because i'm going to be a first time VW owner towards the end of the week. i'll be buying a '71 super beetle project car this weekend (april 24, 2004). the owner says it runs, which is good. at least that way i can get it back to my place. i don't have a garage, so i'll try and talk my buddy into letting me take up some space in his place. i'm looking forward to refurbing it. i'll probably be posting a buttload of questions in the next coupl of months. i'll see y'all later

woo-oo!
I dorve down to Fair oaks (a little bit outside of sacramento) and bought me that '71 super beetle for 900 clams! it's not in the greatest shape aesthetically and the engine coult use a little tuning up, but hey. youcan't beat $900 for a running beetle. i'm very excited about re storing it and i'll try and post pics as often as i can with with my progress. Whee!

That sounds awesome! I bought mine back in '86 for $800... wish it only cost that much to fix it up but it has been fun so far! Be sure to post pictures as you go along. Have fun!
