VW sand Rail Newbie
Hey all, I have posted a few question aleady before I posted here. Just wanted to formaly introduce my self.
Justin, from South West Florida, Fort Myers to be exact.
I recently picked up a Sand Rail with a 1973 Beetle Engine and tranny, traded two Radio Controlled Gas Boats for it, I am now in the process of getting it up and running. I will no doubt have questions, SO far you Guys/Gals have been TOP NOTCH with responces.
I have already replaced the transaxel, guy said it was stuck in first gear, so I picked up a replacement transaxel, only to find out AFTER swapping out the trannys the Hockey Stcik on the old one was just froze up, a little elbow greese to get it out, clean ti up, new greese and the tranny is fine. Now on to solve my Fuel Issue.
One thing I have found, Parts for these engines are for the most part inexpensive and easy to work on.....I have found my new hobby.
I look forward to many discussions and offering my newly found knowledge
