Hello,
I grew up in VW's. My grandma had a van, and my mom had 2 Rabbits in the 80's, one a burnt rust color. I bought a real plain 2007 Rabbit 2.5L 3 years ago. My mom now has a Tiguan. In 2005, I bought a 2000 Golf TDI. I ended up trading cars with my brother, and he took over the payments. My brother is an engineer and drove a lot for work. I did not, so he appreciated the gas mileage on the TDI. Then, he went out and bought himself an R32, which he finally sold last year. The TDI was involved in a crash, and my brother bought a Jeep. He had that for awhile, and then bought a Tiguan. He is no longer a fan of VW. I'm sort of getting there, I have to admit. I owned a Volvo 850 before I bought this car. I'm kinda missing it now with the recent problem I have encountered with my Rabbit. I used to be able to get a little rough with my Volvo, but have found this VW to be really sensitive. I feel like you also have to be rich to own one because the issues seem to only be fixable, properly at least, by the dealer. They are fun to drive, but certainly not to fix. I was able to fix so many things myself on my Volvo. I recently had the ol key stuck in the ignition, and nearly tore my hair out. I finally got the right parts, and installed it yesterday. Funny, how the installation took like 15 minutes, but the disassembly took a week and a half with all the hiccups. I did have a lot of the tools I needed, as I inherited them from my deceased uncle, who was a car genius. Now, I have another problem with CEL UO101, but will try to find the correct forum. Sorry, if I'm not so enthusiastic coming to this forum. Maybe it will change once this issue is finally over. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.
