just bought a 2001 GTI VR6, curious on some good exhaust systems, and wondering how to cut back the bumper to make it fit

Just picked up a garage kept 1996 Passat GLX with a 2.8 VR6 that has less than 40,000 miles! The body and interior is mint. Only had one owner who was a retired cop. The deal was a steal, and I'm super excited about the car.

I have a full cat-back Magnaflow exhaust; it doesn't sound ricy like a Honda Civic coffee can, it's real nice and deep sounding. I can't remember off hand but the HP gain is almost 13, and acceleration is totally noticeable. The kit comes with a high-flow cat, and everything you need. Borla or Greddy is good, too, I just like the Magnaflow cause not a lot of ppl have 'em, and they're great. I did the cold-air intake mod, that was posted on here using the stock airbox, and the throttle response is awesome. Any more questions just ask.

Thanx Joelzy for the referrel, I guess one good turn deserves another...HA HA HA!

you ended up doing the stock box cold air?
The difference is crazy with such a cheap and easy job
glad someone else took advantage of it.

Man I'm telling you, it's like a true ram air/cold air. I went a lil further and put a screen on the end of the pipe so no big crap gets sucked down the tube when the throttle is opened up. It's great!

I hear ya man, i love it too. i was thinkin about puting somethng on the end, but i think its ok with the stock grille back in place, though i did have to use a dremmel and open the grille up. the other side was open for the intercooler to get some air, but the driver side was closed, so i spent a few hours workin with it and it basically looks just like the other side now.
