Default New Veedub in the house!

Hey All!

Name is Ryan and my wife Sam and I just recently purchased a 2008 GLI fully loaded 2.0L Turbo 6 Speed. The car is actually from the states, and we are in Ontario Canada. 37,000kms on the clock and GORGEOUS!

Don't have any pictures yet, but we will soon!

A little about us:

I am not new to the car scene, hence why I'm on the forums. I own a 1996 Eagle Talon TSi AWD Automatic (AWDAuto) and am quite known in the DSM Canada/ECMTuning forums. I do mostly drag, but do road race. Car's fastest time on stock block/stock head Small 16G is 12.3 @ 108. I've been in the tuning scene for about 7 years now. I'm a Truck/Coach Technician by trade.

My wife works for the government (can't really say what), and she's into it just as much as I am.

The car is factory right now, and look forward to researching what can be done on these cars. First on the list is some basic asthetics (Tint, Rims/rubber, brakes) and we'll go from there.

I deal mostly with RTM Racing in Niagara Falls, he does have some VeeDub stuff, however from you seasoned members on here, are there any decent shops/sites for good parts?

I'm sure you all have some VFAQ sites/good reading material you all fill the "noob" threads with, so if anyone has some good links for some reading on what can be done on these cars, post up some links for me!

There's a saying that goes: Cheap, Fast and Reliable. Pick 2. I build/tune based on that.
