Hey everyone. Thought I would introduce myself to the forum! Im currently in the market for a 99+ Jetta (no newer than '02, just because I can't spend a whole lot..) I have wanted one for a very long time, but finally now the time is right and I am going for it. Seems like this forum has lots of useful info, so I feel like I will be a regular here lol. I'll be doing a fair amount of researching here, I like to be an educated buyer.

Are you thinking about a gas/petrol or diesel model?

 

If I can find the right deal on a TDI, that would be ideal, although I would be happy with the 1.8t or even the 2.0. Definitely want a 5 speed manual though, I hear nothing but bad things about the automatics!

 

Have a read of the TDI buyers guides and their problems.
