New in Chicago
Just wanted to drop a line saying hello. I'm brand new to the VW. I bought my '08 Rabbit in Grey just two weeks ago.
Auto background:
I came from a line of NISSANS. Started with a Sentra, went to a Maxima, then an Xterra. I've owned the Xterra for over 3 years and in the process was able to make it a very capable offroad rig, which I did love and still do. I recently let it go because driving it no longer made sense. With close to 130k miles and getting 12 mpg I had to get something else. With the drawback of having an IFS in the Xterra I decided to buy a Jeep with solid axles front and back to suit my offroad needs better. Come spring I should be able to get it. The jeep will be left as a weekend toy and the VW as a daily driver.
I've looked around this and other VW forums a little and got some info here and there.
I told myself that the Bunny will stay as DD but I suppose I can't drive a stock vehicle any more. I was never a part of the rice scene but I think that with a small 1.5 inch drop and some tints the Rabbit will look sexy.
Glad to be a part of this board and looking forward to gathering info, contributing and possibly meeting local members in the Chicago area.
