Mechatronic unit
I have a 2014 Golf and the mechatronic unit was replaced 2 years ago as part of the VW recall campaign code 35E5. Exactly 2 years later the mechatronic unit has been diagnosed by the dealership as needing replacement but here's the rub...apparently I dont have a reasonable warranty claim as the actual diagnosed fault in the unit was outside of the campaign despite the remedy (unit replacement) being the same.
Anyone else have a shared experience or can offer suggestions on how to mount a reasonable case either to the dealership or VW for the work to be done at no cost by me.
The NZ Consumer Guarantee Act (CGA) is quite persuasive particularly when considering a 'durable' product or piece of work but would rather not go there if I can avoid it.
I'm also told VW's largesse when it comes to goodwill is commendable...we shall see
Appreciate any help
