Default Jetta TDI: No torque advice pls

I'm a newbie. Hi Guys,

I have a 2003 Jetta IV 1.9TDI 5 speed. The problem the the lack of any torque, while driving I'm missing the the 250Kw that I was use to. e.g. I use to climb a particular hill in 3rd gear, now I need first gear. Please help me get this torque back as it drives like a standard diesel without any turbo. I had the turbo checked and its working fine.

Possible causes and other related information:

Change of computer.
Re-loaded 2005 Golf V TDI 6 speed software.
Replaced timing belt.
One mechanic claimed that that there is a 'pinhole' air leak from the top block above the manifold pipes. I cannot & do not know where to find this leak!

Besides the lack of torque, the car is fine. Even little Picantos & Micra's overtake me up a climb! What can cause this loss of torque problem?

Welcome any constructive advice or questions,
-Ashraf

Welcome to the forum Ashraf.

Well if you've spent that much on your car you may as well buy the best tool VAG-COM\VCDS or find someone to do an Autoscan to see if any error codes come back. Does the MIL light flash? It sounds like it maybe in limp home mode which will obviously reduce the power. Check all the vacuum pipes and connections.

No disrespect to this forum but there is a great TDI you can search myturbodiesel.

As your a new member here I would ask you to put your car spec in your signature then users won't need to ask everytime, and the country you live in.

Thanks Keith.

Pardon my ignorance is VAG-COM\VCDS computer diagnostic software which identifies/scans for faults?
What is 'limp home mode'?

Will check all vacuums & pumps!

Any other suggestions, anyone?
