hows things everyone
names tony from cork in ireland..
just got myself a 2000 golf GT TDI
said i join up to get tips and stuff bout the car..

Of course you can take cell-phones, laptops, etc. A base is pretty much a little part of America will all the luxuries you'd have on a base back in the United States. Iraq is a little different because it's a combat zone - some soldiers do have phones and laptops but they aren't accessed everyday. Off duty Marines go out with friends, hang out, watch movies, etc. In Iraq things are different because you are limited to on base activities.
Life can be pretty strict. Most (if not all) bases have restrictions on alcohol.
