Help me build my dream car
 

Ok, so heres the deal. I recently rolled my Volvo and am now getting around via bicycle. I work as a lifeguard which affords me the time to think of new concepts and ideas. Now this may be a dream thats unreachable, but I was thinking of starting a project which would involve putting together a Jolf. Basically, I was thinking of a IV generation model jetta front end with a gti/golf back end to it. Also I wanted to put an audi tdi engine in it, with the possibility of giving it 4 wheel drive.
Being that this is a volkswagen community, I was wondering if I could get some input on what parts I would be looking for to initialize this project. ALL input will be appreciated seeing that I am quite inexperienced and would like all opinions from the pros. I have access to an extensive network of people that can help me find all parts and such, so long as I can give them what to look for exactly. I have plenty of time to do this in so I want it to be the best. Thanks for all your input guys :D
