2011 "lifetime free scheduled maint"

2011 "lifetime free scheduled maint"
So I just made an appointment to get my 40k servicing and was told the price of it. When I bought it I was told that I had lifetime free scheduled maintenance on the vehicle. Am I missing something or is the "lifetime" only a limited time?
