2003 GTI/VR6 O2 sensor no activity
Something caught the wire to the O2 sensor in Bank 1 Sensor 2 and the wires were shredded and broke. I was receiving codes for both sensors so I replaced them both. Sensor 1 is working but sensor 2 is not. I am getting code P1198(O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 electrical malfunction) and P0140(O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 no activity detected). The plugs were still securely seated in the box so I do not think there is any issue with the plugs or corresponding wiring. I checked the plugs and all of the wires are tight. My son was driving the car for some time and by the time I received it back it was not running. I scanned the car and the MAF sensor and both O2 sensors were bad. I replaced the MAF sensor as well as the O2 sensors. The car is running but definitely does not have the acceleration it usually does. Any help would be appreciated.
Update: I thought it possible but unlikely that the new sensor could be bad. My supplier warranted the sensor and I installed another new one but am getting the same results. |
