Cool 1995 Golf will not start when damp.

If my 1995 Golf has not been started for more than a day and it has been raining it will not start.
The battery is fine but the engine will not turn over or even make a sound.
I was told to "spray it" with WD40 but do not know where to spray. Please can anyone help ?

You normally spray the spark plug leads with WD40. If could be other things like bad connections. You need to check the ecu connections as they suffer from corrosion from water.

A Can of anti-moisture spray like WD40 will do wonders for your Car as this will help dispel moisture from critical components like spark plugs and coils, in case they come in contact with water. More importantly, this will prevent rusting on exposed metal parts. Spray some WD40 on electrical contact points that are likely to come in contact with water, such as the horn and lights wiring. Also consider Anti rust coating or Under body painting before the monsoon. This is a good practice to keep the Rust at bayin rainy season.
