Overhead Console
 

Hi Guys,

I am from India and I haven't seen any of the VW cars yet. Can anyone tell me whether the interior rear view mirror is just pasted on the windshield or connected to the overhead console (the part where you have the dome light, it is sometimes also called the Dome control module) in Volkswagen Polo, Golf and Passat?

And also it would be great if you can tell me what other functions other than the dome light are present in that overhead in these 3 cars. I am just curious to know about the design

Depends on the year, I don't know bout the 06-recent models, but anything before that is just pasted to the windshield.
