winter tires?

does any one have recommendations for winter tires that are good for volkswagen cars, like the Golf? i have a feeling this will be a bad winter and so I want to be ready

winter tires?

I just want to buy two winter tires, and I have front-wheel drive. Should I put them on the front tires or back tires and why?
