What is this petrol tank?
 

This is the Petrol Tank i had in my VW Albar Beach Buggy. 1200cc. 1980 I think.

Pretty sure everything bar the chassis is beetle. Just want to confirm that i'm looking for a petrol tank for a beetle? What is it i'm actually looking for? What is it my friend is so nicely holding up for me below?

Can obviously see why it needs replacing from the top phot. I'm hoping to get this ordered soon, so if someone can help me figure out what it is. That'd be useful.

Also i wondered if there was a way to add a gauge to the new tank. But, i'm far more interested in getting the tank.

i think it's just the old beetle tank. 1973-1980? Am i wrong?

any help would be appreciated.

after inspection of the above mentioned date range petrol tank. I have reached a conclusion that this has been modified for Beach Buggys?

Any confirmation?
