Default tire pressure low sensor

All,

I have recently bought a GTI which now has 170 miles on it. The tire pressure low sensor has come on a couple days ago and will not shut off. I have checked my tire pressure which is at 40 psi for all 4 tires (18" alloy with all season performance tires).

Should i take this back to the dealership to have them reset the sensor?

I have been reading up on this and it seems that all 4 tires have to be exactly the same in pressure from what some people have posted. I'm wondering if this is correct and if so should I jsut go buy a digital tire pressure gauge.

Guess I am just curious if this is something I should have the dealership check out or if I should handle this another way.

Congratulations on getting one of my dream cars. If you just bought a brand new car from them I'd go bitch at them and see what they have to say about it.

dont do the dealership they suck, but the tire pressure sensors are known for not working properly and i havent really heard of any that worked correctly my brother has a vibe that has tire pressure sensors, and its basically always on, and when you try to reset it (his has a button to hold) it will go off then 10 min later it would come back on, so i wouldnt hold your breath
