Specialties?

Eventually I'd like to go to Universal Technical Institute for automotive mechanics. I was taking some classes at a comm college, but I don't want to deal with the hassles of gen eds and the extra fluff. I hear they have excellent specialty programs after you finish the core 51 weeks program for mechanics. Those include VW, Audi, BMW, Merc-Benz, Toyota, Porsche, etc. I was really interested in doing VW, seeing how it seems the newer gens confuse most general mechanics these days and many times needs a VW specialist. My question is is there really much money and opps in VW specialty? My husband swears I'd be better off with Merc Benz, even after I suggested Audi since them and VW are very similar. Even to that he still says MB. I know a lot of rich people get MB's and there's money there, but I'm really into VW and Audi.

Thoughts and opinions? I'd like to make good money WHILE working on cars like I love. That's why while I love Subaru the most, they're not as popular and maintenance is less on them, and VW is my second favorite manufacturer.
