plugs and wires

I'm going to start working on my fiance's 2000 beetle because I'm tired of paying out the you know what for the repairs.

My first task is plugs and wires, how hard are they to change and what do I need to be aware of?

The help is appreciated.

Also this car has lots of little oil leaks, is this normal? A dealer told me that the head gasket and exhaust gasket need to be replaced but I do not see the loss in power like you would have with such a leak. Is anyone else having this problem?

RE: plugs and wires

couldnt tell you about the plugs and wires, i doubt it is an exhaust manifold gasket causing the leaks because it doesnt have any oil there, not likely the head gasket cause you have an aluminum block with an aluminum head so its not like one needs/can take more pressure than the other, it would most likely be either the oil pan gasket cause i need to replace that on my car or at the oil filter cause mine for some reason leaks ever so slightly at the oil filter, oh and the reason that you get raped from the stealership is becuase most of the stuff that you do to a beetle you have to pull the engine out, except for obvious things like an oil change, coolant change, and simple stuff

I appreciate it, that helps out a lot. I'm going to go through it this weekend and that will tell me a lot when looking over it all.
