Passat v6 auto emergency mode
 

hi, could someone help a transmition problem on a Passat 2.8 V6 late 98. all gears are highlighted on the dash, when you put it in drive it jerks with hardly any power to move foreward.

it sounds like the eletronics for the tranny have gone bad...did this just happen suddenly?

Hi, sorry I'm a bit late to reply. It did happen suddenly. The owner of the car was concerned about the cost of repair, and as I was not 100% sure what the problem is I decided not to touch it, but advised him to speak to a master technition at a VW dealer (not any technition) and he promised to let me know the outcome. cheers
