ive just bought a s/hand Passat 1.8 20v---superb car!!
however the central locking is playing up------------most times when i unlock the car i cant get in thru the drivers door,when i go to any of the other doors and press the internal switch on the drivers door it then opens-----------IS IT ME?????

 

I don't know what year it is and I don't quite exactly understand what is happening to you, but if you are saying that you cannot unlock from the driver's door, however using another external lock you can get into the car and even unlock the driver's door, I would say the part that drives the lock inbetween the lock core and the central locking latch is suspect. I have a 96 Jeta that broke that part and When I talked to the dealer they knew exactly which parts i needed. They also had the upgraded version by the boatload. It appearantly is a pretty common problem.
