I've just purchased a 2001 Passat GLS 1.8T (not a 2001.5). It has 79,000 miles on it. Recently I noticed it is leaking oil. Not just in one place though it's about 7 small puddles where the car was parked. The day before I had the oil changed, and when I checked the oil after noticing it leaking it read about an 1/8" too much on the dipstick. Has anybody else had problems with there Passat? Could it be that there is too much oil in the engine? Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

My wife has a 99 passat with the DOHC V6 that had a similar problem at about 75,000 miles. It turned out to be the cam shaft seals were leaking.
