I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. I have a 2004 GTI 1.8T, 112,000 miles. I got in the car this morning & went to put it in drive, but the shift lever (automatic if that matters)
would not line up right, what should have been drive put the car in neutral, neutral is reverse, 4th on the shifter is drive...everything is back a gear on the shift lever. Never has done this before, Car is running fine... other than the fact that the shift lever says I'm in 4th & the car reads that it is in drive.Does anyone know what is wrong & if I am going to do any harm in driving the car like this?
