need help broke down
 

Looking for help if I can get it. Was having problems in the rain changed distributor cap, button plugs and wires. Hadnt had any problems, for about a month. we got real hard rain and car shut down again. any suggestions. I would appreciate. thanks Jason

Sounds like the age ole thing with VW. You have to get
the distributor dry and run the engine enough to dry all the
goodies and running correct. You should be able to find
a spray can of ignition/ dist sealer, After it's cooled down
spray the heck out of the cap and distributer to seal it.
Also look for a small vent in the cap, if you have one,
(a little tube sticking up with a cap on it) if your cap has
this little vent you can stop it up or replace the cap with
one that doesn't have a vent.
The spray should be found at Auto Zone or Advance,
BE SURE THE SPRAY IS DRY OVER NIGHT BEFORE YOU
START THE ENGINE, IT WILL EXPLODE AND POP THE CAP
OTHER WISE.

Check the coil, if it's anything like my Golf, the casing has a split on the underside, and if you hit a puddle it chugs until it stops.....
I replaced the coil and everything is good
