Default Maintenence Light

I am wondering if anybody knows how to turn off the maintenence light on a 2008 Jetta? Or do I absolutely have to take it into the dealer to get it taken care of? Thanks.

Default RE: Maintenence Light

Hey venom,

I have a 2002 passat and I can reset the service/maintenance interval display via the dashboard instruments, can't quite remember whilst I'm sitting here typing, but if you have a haynes manual it tells you there. Something like put the key in the ignition but dont turn it yet, press and hold the mileage trip button whilst turning the ignition key(but dont start the car), then release trip button.
If I can remember I'll let you know the exact wording from the haynes manual, ok.
This might/ might not work on your car, just letting you know what works for me.

Cheers
