Default Info from on-board computer?

I have to take my '96 Passat to the dealership and pay $45 to get it hooked up to the computer because I don't have the code for the radio. Since they have a set price for hooking it up, are there an additional diagnostics, information, etc. that can be ran/pulled from the computer that would be helpful to know? Just wondering if I can get a little more bang for my $45 bucks.

Thanks.

No there isn't. You can get real-time diagnostic
information of what your car is doing via all the
sensors. But it's useless unless you're tuning
or checking for a problem. The only other
thing that would come up are trouble codes.
If there's nothing wrong with the car, nothing will
show up.

It doesn't have an ecu you just haven't found it yet. I think its under the carpet passenger side. You will have a purple Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) socket which checks the ecu that's under the dash.
