Hello, all… I purchased a new Jetta TDI yesterday and have a question about getting an extended warranty.

I apologize if this has been answered before, I sure it has but I did search and did not come up with anything.

Main question is, what, if any, companies are reputable these days? In 2002 I bought one for my Pontiac, and I think it was from Warranty Direct but I am not sure.

I really like this car and plan to keep it for a long time, but the VW service plan of 6 years 100k for $1800 sounded way to high so I passed on this.

Any info or experiences would be much appreciated.

This is my second VW actually, the first being a 1966 Karmin Ghia that I was stupid enough to part with in 1986 (I wonder what it is worth these days it was in almost perfect shape and had only 40k original miles, inherited from my Grandmother)….
