drivers side door won't unlock
 

Anybody have this problem before and know what needs fixing?

The drivers side door on a 97 Passat will not unlock. Keyless entry works all other doors but the drivers door still remains locked. you can't open it from the inside or outside. Is there a control module in the door that may need replacing?

Sure thing man, there is an electric motor in the door hooked up to your lock. I installed keyless in an older VW and the push bar would come off. First thing take the door panel off the door. Check the motor to see if it’s moving. Follow back from the lock itself to see if the plastic or metal is broken anywhere in the line.
