dash brake light

hey i was driving today in the rain and my dash brake light started flashing and beeping, so i pulled over, turned it off and back on everything seemed fine so i continued cautiously, then when i pushed on the brakes and it sounded like something something was hitting when i would push on the brake, so i pulled over checked the fluid it was fine, took a quick look at the rotors and nothing seemed out of place what could it have been, i have a code checker i used it and nothing came up

that is normal in slippery conditons

no it just says brake in red and it flashes and beeps

no its an 03 vw jetta gli, and no i dont have an asr button i only have esp
