Bad Vibration

Hey everyone.

Here's the scoop. 97 Jetta 2.0/M5. In a straight line the car vibrates pretty badly and the resenance of the vibration changes in accordance to vehicle speed (not engine speed). It never shakes the car uncontrolably, and it doesn't yank the steering wheel back and forth. However, when I make a left hand turn, the vibration stops completely.

What do you guys think? Wheel bearing? Front/Rear? Something else VW specific? (Sorry, it's my first dub.)

Thanks guys!

RE: Bad Vibration

I had the same problem with my 96 GTI, it was the front wheel bearing and if it stops when you turn left, and seems worse and louder when you turn right, then it's probably the drivers side.

That's what I was looking for. I wasn't sure which way it was - if it stopped making the noise when you put load on it or removed load from it. I've read both now, lol.

Thanks :)
