96 Jetta overheating

I have a 96 jetta gls, I've had it for around 2 months now. The other day I was driving the car on the freeway when smoke started coming out of the dashboard and it was leaking antifreeze. We replaced the heater core which was a pain in the butt. Anyways the car still overheats. Does anyone know why it still does this? Sorry I have no experience with volkswagens.

RE: 96 Jetta overheating

might have a bad fan switch
let it idle and see if the fan ever comes on
