95 golf wont stay running

95 golf wont stay running
I own a 1995 1.4 petrol golf that i love.
But the problem im having is so bad.
It will turn over without a problem but will only stay running for 2-3 seconds, and it will keep doing this,
can anyone please help????[:@]
