2003 VW Passat Trunk Latch
 

Can anyone please tell me how to remove the plastic cover under the trunk lid of a 2003 VW Passat. My truck lock broke and I'm trying to replace it but can't get to the screws holding the old one in place because of the plactic cover. Please help.

Did you ever get a solution to your problem? I am dealing with the same issue and it seems like 2003 Passat have issues with their trunk latch...at least from the basic internet research I have done. The beeping indicator is getting old and I want to resolve this issue. Any advise on how to repair this myself would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm having the same issue on my 2003 passat.

Trunk is not locking. not sure if it's mechanical or electrical.

I successfully took it apart but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what the problem is.

Any Luck?
 

Did anybody have any luck? I'm having the same problem on my '03 Passat. Also, having trouble removing plastic cover under trunk lid to get to my license plate.
