Default 2001 gti problem, please help...

i have a 2001 gti 1.8 turbo, and in the last couple days i have experienced with the engine keeps on shutting down after 10-15 minutes of driving. After waiting another 15-20 minutes, the engine back on again after starting(this didn't happen right the engine shuts down in the beginning). When it started to run again, i am only able to drive for another 10-15 minutes and engine off again. i changed the fuel pump hoping it would solved the problem, but apparently, the same problem still there. Please if anyone has experienced this problem with gti 1.8, any advice would help...

thank you

tony
