2001 Cabrio Radio Code problem

I disconnected the battery on my 2001 Cabrio and now the radio is in safe mode. I bought the car used so I have no manual. I have the VIN and radio serial numbers. Is there anyone who can look up the code for me? My local VW dealer wants 60 bucks!

I bought a used 2001 Cabrio radio at a yard sale and have installed it into my 73' bus. Any chance you can help me with the safe code too?
