1984 Jetta air filter. Help!
 

Hey. I just bought a 1984 Jetta manual transmission with 188k. I'm hoping to learn how to work on it myself, as I do have some experience and confidence. I have not yet come up with the money for a manual, and I cannot for the life of me figure out where the air filter goes. Does anyone know? Thanks.
