i have a 2003 vw jetta gli with a vr6 engine in it, how do i tell if it has 12v or 24v

Your lucky, it's a 24 valve. 200hp vs. 170 from the 12v.

but how do you find out if your looking on your car where would you find it

You would take off your valve cover.

run your vin number through the dealer, plus your engine code will tell you, plus I think the valve cover or head stamping or something on the motor will tell you. But yea Racer how do you know it's 24V?? cause GLI? I have GLS I ran my vin through dealer came back AWP motor code I think? so yea....ha ah

2001 and up are 24v. And you can run your vin at bimmerspecialist.com.

Actually I guess it was available as an option from 2001,code BDF. I thought they just switched to it.

i dont think that place is very accurate cause it said that i have a 3 door pickup with a diesel engine
whereas i have a jetta with a gas engine
