Just bought an 01 passat with the raido controls in the steering wheel. Car doesnt have a cd player (which sucks)! If you replace the tape deck with an aftermarket one can you still use the controls in the steering wheel? What if you upgrade to a cd player from VW, will the controlls still work? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

 

Well I don't have any personal experience with that setup but pull out your stock radio and see how it's wired up, see if there's an additional connector etc. to support the controls in the steering wheel, then buy a suitable deck....
