Default GTI leaks when parked at angle

got a 2002 GTI

my driveway slopes at about 5%

if i'm parked in the driveway when it rains, i get bad leaks. even in a light rain, i get a puddle on the driver's side floor

no leaks if parked on level ground, no matter how hard it rains.

any ideas?

Yeah, Volkswagen vehicles seem to have this problem with leaks. I heard the Eos also has the same fault. Does Volkswagen know about this already? Seems like a pretty widespread problem to me.

That's a fairly steep grade. If its only the drivers side, I would check the air channels for evidence of dripping water. It could be that the angle is allowing water to collect too rapidly for the drain and overflowing enough to cause it.
