'00 Cabrio broken glove box latch

Please help . . . One night, while driving, I pulled and tugged on my glove box latch to open it. I didn't see the box had already opened and damaged the latch. I took what I needed and closed the box, now I can't open the box . . . duh! Is there a way to get the box open? I assume I'll need to replace the lock if/when it does open. Many thanks!

You could either pry it open and replace the parts that you break or were already broken or you can take the center console panel and the dashboard side panel and you could remove the glove box that way. By the way, this is where you post suggestions for the forum. Post in the Cabrio or general tech forums in the future. You'll have a better chance of your post being seen.

The lid has to be open to get to 3 screws securing the glovebox.
