Default Air conditioning problem

I have a 2013 Passat TDI. So far very happy with it and has not been in shop and have first problem but I am out of warranty. The dealer did not give any indication that this is a typical problem and have not found any asking this issues.

The A/c is not working when first start up the car in the morning. it takes any where from 3-8 miles before it starts working and then it is fine the rest of the day. We have been in the 100's the last few weeks but not the issue. the car is in the shade in the morning. later in the day when it is not it cools down quick. Once it starts cooling it will freeze me out and I am turning it down. So feel it is some computer or relay related issue. it is currently just and pain and can deal with it especially after the dealer told me they charge 120.00 just to tell me what is wrong. I will take it to small mechanic before I pay the dealer 120.00.

Any way had to rant a little. has any one else had this issues and if so what did they do to fix it. If it is a typical problem most are probably still under warranty but I have 44,000 miles and have the car 12 months and 20 days.

You don't say where you live in your spec I assume its USA?

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

I would suggest you also join a great TDI forum VW TDI forum, Audi, Porsche, and Chevy Cruze diesel forum
