Default 2006 Passat e brake auto engaging

Has anyone had an issue with the e brake auto engaging when the vehicle is initially turned off? The e brake will activate, indicate it's activated on the console, then deactivate itself immediately afterwards. My Passat does this every once in a while when I park and cut power. It has never done this while driving. Thoughts would be appreciated.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

Default Signature Line Added

I created a signature line from the info on the sticker you were referring to. Mine was configured differently then the one you pictured in the other thread, so in order to provide as much info as possible, I put a picture of the sticker as my profile photo, but the photo isn't populating on the post. I'll look at it again....

Thats ok but you don't really need all the extra codes homogeneous base engine: T59/T61/TQ2/TU2/TD6/TN6/TT8.

I'm curious about the 147kW as none of my spec shows that only 150kW.

At least you have bothered to show your spec no very few others do, cheers.

I only regurgitated what that sticker showed. I can't explain what it means. Hopefully there will be some replies as I'm very curious as to why this happens, especially after reading a forum post where a driver said his ebrake auto engaged WHILE he was driving. Very scary!
