I have a 2001 Jetta and been having problems with the driver seat.

This model has a lever on the side of the seat, and when you crank it, it moves the seat up and down. However, I can only move it up one level (to it's highest level...which means the top of my head is very close to the ceiling!), then back down one level. I can't crank the seat back down the entire way though...I try pushing down on the lever but it seems it just won't budge. (It used to work.)

I think a spring or something that allows that to work has broken off or stuck. I can easily move my seat backwards and forwards, so I know that's not involved.

Anyone had a similar problem like this?
