Default Catalytic converter warranty

Curious if anyone has ever sent a receipt to Volkswagenfor recall or warranty work. Just sent receipt in for an extended warranty on my cat converter and wondered if there was any problem that they wouldn't pay. They told me that after they get receipt they would evaluate it. Whats to evaluate. I have a 1999 Jetta and I was told it was under waranty. Little confused about this. Thanks

saar4321, Thank you very much, i appreciate you going out of your way for me....... and Jrailer, thanks also .... my problem is my car has 140,000 on it ..... so i guess thats shot down, but thanks..... I have the new cat in the trunk to take it to a family members shop to use their lift to make it easier on me, but i was hoping that if it was under warranty i could return it and have VW deal with it.......

In fact warranty has been extended to 120,000 miles but that won't do you any ngood. However, someone else might be interested. Doubting that we'll even get reimbursed for ours. They were really strict about the receipt. Had to be printed and no writing. Like I say if we get reimbursed we'll be very surprised. Ours was $600
