I purchased an 05 plate Golf about a month ago.

I noticed that the "ESP Off" button by the gear stick was permanently illuminated, no matter which position it was in. At no time does any indicator appear upon the dash board.

I have returned the vehicle several times to the used car dealer, but to no satisfactory conclusion.

Now the button is jammed down - no longer illuminated, but still no warning on the dash.

Now the dealer wants no more of me - he says he has done everything he can.

what is supposed to happen? I am drafting a letter to consumer direct and trading Standards
