I want to tear out my nasty tan carpet and just put in black. I've looked online at different sites for molded carpet and the prices range from $99-$200. I do plan on purchasing that roofing material that works similar to dynamat for sound deadening.

So my question is if I do that, should I still get the carpet with the mass backing? That makes the carpet a little more pricey so I was wondering if it was really worth it?

If you have purchased carpet recently, who did you go with and were you happy with the product? I'm not sure if they are all the same or if some are better than others. Links appreciated. Thanks!
