Opinions Needed!!
I currently own a 1998 Cabrio, which I LOVE. It has about 165,000 miles on it. The clutch was installed wrong out of the factory, so I've had to replace that, along with the timing belt, serpentine belt, muffler, etc. Some things were general maintenance, others were not. But my Cabrio gets me where I'm going and I'm attached to it. Unfortunately, it's about time to trade her in for a new car.
I love the VW Beetles, especially the convertible. I know a couple of people who bought them when they first came out, and they had all kinds of problems with them. I'm thinking maybe since then the bugs have been ironed out. I still hear good, and bad, things about them though.
So I'm asking for opinions. Those of you who own the New Beetle - what do you think? Would you buy one again? Would you recommend them or discourage someone from buying one?
I REALLY need your input! Thanks!

RE: Opinions Needed!!
I would defiantly buy one again, i love this car. I have not run into any problems yet and i have a 2002 with 37,000 miles on it. If you take good care of it then it will take good care of you. OH fyi... stay away from diesel bugs. Lemon waiting to happen. Unleaded runs fantastic.
I would recommend not getting a convertible though. Those aren't the safest and i have also heard people that run into a lot of problems with mainly just the convertible. Get a sun roof instead :]
Fact of the matter, i really love this car great gas mileage is also a plus.
Hope i helped. :]

I have a 2006 Diesel Bug and love it. I have not had any problems with it and it gets great mileage. As one reply stated do take care of it. This applys to any vehicle, bug or not. I have had two bugs and would buy another.
