2004 Beetle Convertible ... Driver-side Window along B-Pillar not sealing!
Recently, the driver side window shattered, vandalism. The glass was mostly in place, but shattered. Nothing appears stolen.
Speedy Glass came to replace the window, but they must have used the wrong glass because the B-Piller has a 1/4" to 1/2" gap!!
They came around again to replace the window, now there's about a 1/4" gap towards the top of the B-Pillar, down about 4" near where it meets the convertible top.
The Speedy Glass guy said that I should take it to the dealer.
The dealer checks it out, replaced the window regular, diagnostic, parts, etc, for a tune of over $800... but the GAP is still there.
The dealer says the car should be taken to a body shop, since it might have been twisted due to the vandalism. I think the tweaked door was due to Speedy Glass. Since between the first and second Speedy Glass visit, the door handle was ok as well as the remote unlock; after the second visit, the external door handle and remote was problematic (fixed by the dealer)... I think the Glass guy tweaked things up.
So, has anyone else had experience where their window wouldn't seal properly along the B-Pillar? How was it fixed? Anyone??
